Simply stated, we love everything about our new kitchen: cabinets, larger island, pantry, flooring, countertops, sink, faucet. We cannot imagine a better experience. In the 1990’s, we had a kitchen remodeling job at our previous house. There were delays and it seemed like the project dragged on and on. In 2022, with all the supply chain issues, we never expected this job to go the way it did. We think part of this is because everyone at Simple Kitchen seems to enjoy what they do for a living. It reflects in their attitudes—from the people who directed our calls to the owner himself--everyone appears to take pride in their contributions beginning with the customers’ initial contacts with the company to the end of the cleanup on the final day. We cannot thank Simple Kitchen enough!
We were interested in Simple Kitchens primarily because of the speed they promised to get the job done, but wondered what the catch was. When we visited the showroom Bridget immediately introduced herself as a design consultant. We were impressed immediately with her straight-forward manner, professionalism, friendliness, and self-confidence. We looked at the various displays of cabinets and countertops. Bridget was extremely helpful with her suggestions, and we made several changes with what we thought we had wanted. When it was time to select the backsplash, she made a suggestion and we agreed on the spot without even looking at anything else! She made an appointment for her and Anthony to come to our house to take the final measurements and they both made helpful suggestions such as building out both soffits. We chose to replace the entire existing hardwood flooring, from the front door through the kitchen eating area and the kitchen to the laundry room door, including the half-bath and two closets.
Anthony promised to get back with us as soon as possible with an estimate. When he called, the next week, we asked if we could expand the scope to include replacement of the flooring in the laundry room. He said it would just require an extra weekday. He said he would send us the estimate and promised to call us with the date the work could begin, probably late August or September. Imagine our surprise when he called and asked to schedule the start date on July 28th! He even apologized for the 8 working days extending over two weekends, which was of no concern to us.
The chief artisan, Drew and his assistant Andy, were here promptly on July 28th. We use the term “artisan” instead of “installer” because of Drew’s wonderful combination of skills and great attention to detail. The coordination with the electricians and countertop installers was superb. Everyone who came to the house worked as a team. Besides being skilled and professional, Drew and Andy were very friendly and had great senses of humor. They cleaned up after each working day and made sure we always had use of the downstairs toilet in the half-bath and the washer and dryer over the weekends.
The extensive amount of flooring made finishing the job as promised on August 8th a bit problematic. However, both Anthony and even the owner came out on Friday afternoon, August 5th, and worked for several hours, cutting trim, etc. Anthony also came out with Drew for several hours Saturday morning. We were thanked for allowing them to work on Saturday, which was totally unnecessary as we wanted the project finished as well. And as promised, at 2:45 pm on Monday, August 8th, the project was completed! And we couldn’t be happier with our beautiful new kitchen.
